Today Show Appearance
Last week, I kicked off Halloween with a TV appearance on the TODAY SHOW with 6 adorable kids, wearing overall costumes from Wondertime and cardboard box costumes from FamilyFun. Drawing on ideas from our October issues, I talked about how you can assemble creative costumes from stuff you have at home instead of spending the day shopping for a store-bought costume (and spending $30!) The littlest models on the show wore overalls – and dressed as a builder, gardener, and painter (Jackson Pollock). The bigger kids wore slightly more elaborate costumes made out of cardboard boxes, including a giant ant invading a picnic table and a cardboard box washing machine (modeled by my daughter's friend LuLu). Last but not least, was my daughter Maisie, dressed up as a dog with a litter of puppies. It happened to be Maisie's 8th birthday so the host wished her a happy day in front of millions of viewers – a very proud moment for me! Watch the segment here.Post a comment
